Cameroon Coaching Capital

A 2 Million FCFA Prize Pool for the First National Competition in Public Speaking, Personal Development and Leadership Coaching

Yaoundé, Cameroon — September 2026.

Cameroon is taking a major step towards strengthening the coaching, training and human development ecosystem with the launch of the 1st edition of CONCA-DL – National Competition for Coaching in Public Speaking, Personal Development and Leadership.

The initiative is being launched under the CCC – Cameroon Coaching Capital programme by BN GROUP, Debate Cameroon and RIPAO – International Network for the Promotion of Arts and Orality.

A new generation of professional coaches

CONCA-DL is designed to identify, train, develop and empower talented Cameroonians who have the potential to become professional coaches in the fields of public speaking, personal development and leadership.

The programme is open to people from all social backgrounds, aged 18 to 55, living in any of Cameroon’s ten regions or within the Cameroonian diaspora.

Students, professionals, entrepreneurs, teachers, trainers, community leaders, communicators, artists and anyone passionate about personal transformation and the development of others are encouraged to apply.

100 talents, 30 top profiles and 4 outstanding coaches

The programme has set ambitious objectives.

The first goal is to train 100 selected candidates and provide them with the theoretical, methodological and practical skills required to begin a coaching career at the local level.

From these 100 participants, 30 of the strongest profiles will be identified and supported towards greater national visibility and access to professional opportunities.

The programme will then provide enhanced support to the four outstanding candidates, with the objective of helping them develop professional coaching careers at the international level.

Selected coaches may also have opportunities to contribute to projects and programmes developed by the partner organisations, including initiatives such as COCAM, Brainball and CIDDAR, as well as other projects implemented through the RIPAO network.

A practical and immersive training journey

CONCA-DL is not limited to theoretical instruction.

The selected participants will follow an intensive training programme combining online learning and practical field experience.

The training will take place online twice a week for approximately three to four months, followed by practical and immersive workshops designed to help participants apply their knowledge in real-life situations.

Participants will be introduced to key areas including public speaking, communication, personal development, leadership, coaching methodology, facilitation and the practical delivery of training sessions.

The programme will conclude with the assessment and certification of participants, followed by the selection and recognition of the 30 best national profiles and the awarding of prizes to the four best candidates.

Building a sustainable coaching ecosystem

Beyond the competition itself, CONCA-DL seeks to contribute to the emergence of a stronger and more structured coaching ecosystem in Cameroon.

Participants will be encouraged to share the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the programme by committing to train at least 100 young people or professionals before completing the programme.

This multiplier approach is intended to extend the impact of the initiative far beyond the initial 100 participants.

The programme also promotes long-term engagement. Successful candidates are expected to commit to participating in the CCC network for at least three years after completing their training.

Who can apply?

Candidates must:

  • Be between 18 and 55 years old;
  • Live in one of Cameroon’s ten regions or in the Cameroonian diaspora;
  • Be fluent in English or French;
  • Have access to an Android smartphone or laptop;
  • Acquire the required educational materials;
  • Pay the 10,000 FCFA application fee;
  • Commit to the CCC network for at least three years after training;
  • Commit to training at least 100 young people or professionals.

Selection process

The recruitment and training process will be implemented in several stages:

September 2026: Official launch of the call for applications.

November–December 2026: Selection of candidates by waves.

November 2026: Distribution of training kits and beginning of the training programme.

2027: Progressive deployment of practical field activities on a part-time basis, approximately once a week.

June 2027: Graduation, certification, recognition of top performers and launch of professional career support.

A 2 Million FCFA Prize Pool

With a 2 million FCFA prize pool, CONCA-DL aims to create more than a competition. It seeks to create a pathway towards skills development, professional empowerment, entrepreneurship and international opportunities.

The programme is built around a simple ambition:

Identify talent. Build competence. Create opportunities.
