The First Editions
The first editions of national public speaking competitions in Cameroon, organized by the CDA and its partners, date back to 2010 at the University of Buea. In 2023, the CDA launched COCAM. COCAM was created through the merger of the national and regional public speaking competitions organized by the CDA, the umbrella organization for Cameroonian oratory, from 2009 to 2015, and then from 2019 to 2021, including CANUDC 1, 2, and 3, and ORATORIUM 1 and 2. In 2024, the CDA organized the “Little Geniuses of the Francophonie” competition under the auspices of the French Institute of Yaoundé. In 2025, the Brainball project was launched and held in all 10 regions, in 13 cities.
