The Cameroon Debate & Speech Nationals is back after 8 years
As part of the first edition of the Cameroon Debate & Speech Nationals, named COCAM, in collaboration with UNESCO and CERDOTOLA, Debate Cameroon is organizing a restitution workshop and perspectives of this prestigious national oratory art competition.
The restitution workshop is planned in Yaoundé, on Friday June 14, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the main room of the Fondation Conseil Jeunes, number 1 partner of COCAM in the Center region.
COCAM is a national program for structuring the oral sector and developing an endogenous Cameroonian oratory culture. The final phases of the first edition of COCAM took place in March 2024 in Yaoundé within CEGOSE.
Co-organized by around fifty civil society organizations in the 10 regions of Cameroon, the first edition mobilized more than 700 participants in the regions. The best gathered in Yaoundé.
The crème de la crème of Cameroonian Orators come together in the ENOC 237 organ, Cameroon’s national oratory team, which is supposed to represent Cameroon in international competitions.
The second edition of COCAM is scheduled for February in Yaoundé. Five sections are open in two languages (French, English): Eloquence, Debate, Advocacy, Storytelling, Slam.
The COCAM program is ready to work with all actors of Cameroonian civil society operating in one of these areas. The objective is to highlight all the players operating in the oral sector and its related fields.
