Mburuku platform: 11 internally displaced project leaders funded and trained in project management
On the 28 th of January 2021, held a workshop on treasury management at the Cameroon Debate Association (CDA), as part of the project PARADE II, where eleven (11) displaced projects holders selected for funding participated. Exchanges commenced at 10AM, with presentations of the participants and the facilitator.
At the first module on introduction to treasury, exchanges between the facilitator and the displaced were tensed indeed, especially as they inquired to know more about the notion of treasury. In this phase, Belgerelle T. ZANDZI, CDA administrator, presented a handful of examples, with clear explanation on how they will manage their treasury book, specifically the entries and withdrawals as per the allocated funds are concerned. In the second module, the facilitators enlightened the participant on best strategies helping them to mount budgets for their activities within the project. Still basing on examples of budgets mounting in the projects PARADE I and II, the facilitator intensively cleared out all the doubts of the displaced.
When all had been understood about budgeting, the facilitator elaborated with the participants on criteria of a proper receipt. Yet, she used previous examples obtained out of transactions in the project PARADE II. Many raised questions, which were answered, so much that everything is made clean. At the end of this module, the facilitator gave an exercise to the participants to mount up a proper receipt out of information received. Everyone mounted a sample of a receipt and confronted with the final example presented by the facilitator. This exercise marked the end of the workshop, afterward refreshment took place and other information concerning the project PARADE II.
In November 2020, the Cameroon Debate Association (CDA) officially launched the second phase of the project for the empowerment of the internally displaced persons in Dschang and surrounding (PARADE II), which comprises seven (7) main activities. After a call for displaced projects, presentations and selection of feasible projects for funding in the West region of Cameroon, under the platform MBURUKU.COM, the PARADE team organised a skill-building workshop on project management at its headquarters, Dschang for 11 beneficiaries. This was basically with the aim to empower the 11 displaced that benefited from funds of MBURUKU phase I, with accounting managerial tips that will help them manage the funds allocated to them for their projects.
