The International Network for the Promotion of Public Speaking in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific (RIPAO) is an apolitical association created in Egypt in 2013 by nationals of 22 countries. COPAD
The Pan-African Cup of First Ladies Debates is held every year in an African country. It is a continental public speaking championship run by the First Ladies of French-speaking Africa. It is open to academics aged 18 to 25. COPAD’s headquarters are located in Mali. Here is the COPAD 2019 report.
RIDEF
The Rencontres Internationales d’Eloquence et de Débat Francophone is intended to be a forum for the exchange and transmission of values such as mutual understanding, dialogue and solidarity, thus helping to enable young Francophones to understand the major development challenges. The first edition of the RIDEF was scheduled to be held in Lomé (Togo) in March 2020. Cameroon is the only Central African country member of the network. For the first edition, eight will be in competition: Benin – Burkina Faso – Cameroon – Ivory Coast – France – Niger – Senegal – Togo.
CAJO
African Oratory Games Council for Central Africa and the Great Lakes. Comprising 12 countries, the CAJO was created by peer speakers from Cameroon, Chad, Gabon and CAR on August 4, 2019 in Ouagadougou with Yaoundé as its headquarters. It is the body in charge of regulating public speaking championships in the Central Africa & Great Lakes sub-region.
